Living at Grand Caribbean
Grand Caribbean is a gated resort of two low-rise towers, East and West, set around a small lake near the east end of Perdido Key. Completed in 1996, it holds 134 one- and two-bedroom condos, and owners have deeded access to the Gulf by a short walk to the beach.
Floor plans run from about 700 to 1,175 square feet, and many include hallway bunk beds and large balconies. Both towers share two heated pools, two hot tubs, a fitness center, a clubhouse with a library, and picnic areas with grills. With a 3-night rental minimum, it's one of the more affordable ways to own near the beach on Perdido Key, whether for personal use or as a vacation rental.
Close to Johnson Beach
The resort is minutes from Rosamond Johnson Beach and the start of Gulf Islands National Seashore, which protects roughly the eastern 7 miles of the island. The park's crossovers, pavilions, boardwalk nature trail and small boat launch make easy day trips, with lifeguards on duty in summer. An entrance fee applies, and pets aren't allowed on the Seashore beach.
Around Perdido Key
Perdido Key Drive connects the resort to restaurants, shops and marinas, the 1.5-mile beach at Perdido Key State Park and the Flora-Bama at the Alabama line. Mainland Pensacola is across the Theo Baars Bridge.
