Living at Perdido Quay

Perdido Quay is a low-density Gulf-front building just east of Perdido Pass. Built in the mid-1980s, the 10-story building has just 30 residences, three per floor.

Every home is a two-bedroom, two-bath plan of about 1,425 square feet, with a private covered balcony off the living room and unimpeded views of the Gulf. Depending on updates, units may have granite counters and tile floors.

Owners share an outdoor pool with a sundeck, a covered seating area facing the Gulf, a lobby, ground-level owner storage, on-site parking and a boardwalk to the beach. The building is rent-restricted except for a handful of units grandfathered by the original owners. RVs and boat trailers aren't allowed.

Just east of the Perdido Pass Bridge, Alabama Point East, part of Gulf State Park, adds more than 6,000 feet of wide beach with dunes, boardwalks, picnic areas, restrooms and outdoor showers. The Florida line is a little less than a mile east.
